Building inclusive, responsive and resilient health systems
The WHO Health and Migration Programme, in collaboration with WHO’s Service Delivery and Primary Health Care Unit, invites you to the launch of the 8th Global Evidence Review on Health and Migration (GEHM), Primary health care-oriented responses for migrants, refugees and displaced populations.
Background
Primary health care (PHC) provides the foundation of equitable, people-centred health systems and a key pathway towards universal health coverage. Yet migrants, refugees and displaced populations continue to face barriers that limit access to essential health services, affect continuity of care, and contribute to health inequities.
This latest edition of the GEHM synthesizes global evidence on how PHC-oriented responses can improve health outcomes and access to care for people on the move, while supporting more inclusive, responsive and resilient health systems. The review examines interventions across diverse settings and explores how the core components of PHC—integrated service delivery, multisectoral action, and community engagement—can contribute to better health and well-being for migrant and displaced populations.
The webinar will present the report's key findings and policy considerations, followed by a panel discussion with experts from government, academia, practice and youth networks on translating evidence into policy and practice.
The Global evidence review (GEHM) series is a portfolio of evidence-based normative products produced by WHO Health and Migration, to provide policy makers with systematic summaries of the current evidence on priority topics related to health, migration and displacement, and policy considerations to move forward on these key topics.
