Children have the right:
- To expect all adults to do what is best for them
- Adults should act in the best interests of children
- Adults should think about how decisions can have an impact on children
- Children have the right to know and live with parent(s) who care for them unless it is bad for them to do so
- In some cases, children might live with members of the extended family or community, or legal guardians
