Children have the right:

• To expect all adults to do what is best for them
• Adults should act in the best interests of children
• Adults should think about how decisions can have an impact on children
• Children have the right to know and live with parent(s) who care for them unless it is bad for them to do so
• In some cases, children might live with members of the extended family or community, or legal guardians
